Artisans Canary Soap Ingredient’s Page
Here is a list of the ingredients we use in our soap making process:
We use all stainless steel in the making and pouring of our soaps. The packaging will come to you installed into a vegetable based wax paper sheet or a vegetable based wax paper bag or both and wrapped with a sticker that has a picture of the bar and a very basic outline of the ingredients for presentation purchases. We will never allow any leaching of plastic(s) to touch our products post saponification.
Again to summarize the last statement, the bars of soap will always be placed in a vegetable based wax container of sorts. Sealed within wax paper or a wax paper bag or both, and then it is wrapped and sealed within label to preserve the freshness and scent.
We do install some additives and even use some preservatives such as citrus based ingredients to help preserve the oils used in the bars so that your bar of soap lasts much longer.
These additives could be ingredients such as Bees wax, or Lactic, Lauric, and still others such as Stearic Acids.
Please do not let the word acid scare you, it is really only showing within a particular relationship to a group’s family.
Lactic Acid.
Typically derived from plants such as beets. Used in skin fresheners, as a preservative, etc. Alternatives: plant milk sugars, synthetics.
Stearic Acid.
Are of plant origin, including from cocoa butter and Shea butter. Used in cosmetics, soaps, lubricants, candles, hairspray, conditioners, deodorants, creams, chewing gum, food flavoring. Stearic acid can be found in many vegetable fats, coconut oil for instance.
Lauric Acid.
Lauric acid, is a medium-chain fatty acid found mainly in coconut oil (extra virgin, of which we use in many of our soap recipe’s), is one of these prized substances. Pure coconut oil contains about 50 percent lauric acid, and is the most abundant natural source of lauric acid available.
When lauric acid is present in the body, it is converted into monolaurin, a monoglyceride compound which exhibits antiviral, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal and antifungal properties. It acts by disrupting the lipid membranes in organisms like fungus, bacteria and viruses, thus destroying them”.
Although you might hear or read that many of these three additives are derived from animals, let us assure you that;
Ours are all Plant Based!
The soap bars might also contain one of the following waxes;
Almond, Bees, Carnauba or Candellila Waxes.
Almond Wax:
The wax uses the natural benefit of Almond Oil, which restores and replenishes dry skin, great in lip balms, lotion bars, and body butters.
Bees Wax:
Wax obtained from melting honeycomb with boiling water, straining it, and cooling it. From virgin bees. Very cheap and widely used in lipsticks and many other cosmetics, especially face creams, lotions, mascara, eye creams and shadows, face makeup, nail whiteners, lip balms, etc. Carnauba wax (from the Brazilian palm tree; used in many cosmetics, including lipstick; rarely causes allergic reactions). Candelilla wax (from candelilla plants; used in many cosmetics, including lipstick; no known toxicity).
Candellila Wax:
This unique vegetable wax helps provide gloss and lubricity to lip balms and lotion bars. Candellila is obtained from the coating of the wax slipper plant (Euphorhia Cerifera) found mainly from Mexico to the central regions of South America. The wax is extracted by boiling the plant (to separate the wax and the plant material). The wax floats to the top of the water and is skimmed off and processed.
Carnauba Wax:
Carnauba Wax is exuded by the leaves of the Brazilian *Tree of Life* (Copernica Cerifera) to conserve the moisture within the tree and leaves. A Brazilian tree formally named Copernicia Prunifera and otherwise known as the fan or Carnauba palm is the source for Carnauba wax.
So you see when any site say’s they are not putting any additives in their handmade soaps, it is really just a play of words to make you feel comfortable with their particular product.
We strive to be above board and as sincere with you as possible!
What are we actually really saying, is this, exactly what we said:
We stake our reputation on it!
Have you ever heard the saying, “WE SAY WHAT WE MEAN“?
The ingredients in which we make our soaps are all vegetable based.
We will never use any part of another species i.e. animal or mammal to produce any soap within our line.
We will always only use vegetable or plant based materials in the soaps.
This ensures you that what you are putting on the outside of your skin is not tainted with the anxieties, endorphin’s, adrenaline and or the fear from of any other living, breathing being.
For details on the individual listing of ingredients of our bars; please click on the appropriate links. The specific oils for a given soap bar will be given in its individual description on our cake/bar pages. All of our soap bars will have their own characteristics based on the particular oils used. We do have a large assortment of essential oils that we infuse with our soaps that make up the scent of that particular bar and really too many to list. Please be aware that we do what can be done to insure that these essential oils come from well-known and reputable essential oil distributorships!
Hello Alex (giggles) here you are again:
{Just a repeat of what I said on the other page}
At the risk of sounding repetitive and of not being too non-personal (is there such a hyphenated word, giggles)?
Thank you for your compliments, although because of minor setbacks and other goings on it has been a slow start-up. Yours and others like your words of encouragement have certainly motivated us to keep trudging forward. We hope to make this site not only a one of a kind so to speak, but also a place that some might even call {if you will} home!
Again THANK YOU Alex and we hope you continue looking in on us to see our progress and movement forward……
Sincerely,
PS,,,, since we are so new to all this, we had to over a spans of time finally summarize that you and many others like yourself were not spam, please forgive and forget our lack of experience since we are so new to all this and apologies to giving you such a slow response!!
